Day 27 Santiago to Negreira

We said goodbye to Louly and Christabell last night.
Slight change of plan, we decided to have breakfast at the Paradore as breakfast was included in our bill and we were not going to waste 27 euros of food, so we left at 0745, I have to say I was tired before we started.
Then there was three.

We cleared the city in 20 minutes.

Memories came flooding back as I walked to Finisterre last year.

We looked behind us and Santiago was enshrouded in mist.

This stage is a really beautiful walk; no industrial estates for us today, just woodland and country roads.

We took a wrong turning here and thankfully a farmer shouted at us to put us right.

Within minutes we had a 900 foot climb up through woodland, the going was tough but we powered up. By the time we got to the top my Achilles was killing me.

It was very hot even though the sun was not out.

The sun came out with 5 miles to go.
Another beautiful bridge at Maceira.

DOB

We had 5 miles to go and it was really getting very hot indeed.

We eventually arrived at Negreira to find all the hotels are booked up so we are staying in an Albergues in a dormitory with 20 beds, I am dreading all that farting, snoring and throat clearing tonight, God knows what it will be like when everyone else starts!!!

Matt painting and me doing the blog outside a cafe.

We went down to  the river for a walk.

Much to our horror Matt stripped off and went for a swim.

It was a beautiful spot out of the sun.

Stats for today

Walked 14 miles

40 miles to Finisterre

Distance covered 374 miles

If my memory serves me well we have a very tough 20 miles ahead of us tomorrow, so it is going to have to be an early start.
